This is a list of priorities for a weightlifter who trains hard consistently but wants faster progress.
- Sleep! At least 8 hours, but closer to 10 is better for an athlete. What helps this is having a strict bed time with no phone.
- Find training partners.
- Nutrition. I am not going to go into which diet is best, but find one that is balanced and health and stick with it. (Steroids are not nutritious)
- Basic Supplements: Protein, zinc, magnesium, D3, fish oil, and a multivitamin.
- Stretching 15 minutes a day
- Ice bath once or twice a week. (Not after hard training) 10 minutes
- Sauna once or twice a week. 20+ minutes
You should notice what is not on this list more than what is. Not saying that other things are hurting you, but if you prioritize these basics, they will take you far.
